Job Description:
The Pharmacy Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of medications and healthcare supplies to patients. This position involves safely transporting prescriptions and medical supplies from the pharmacy to patients’ homes or healthcare facilities. Pharmacy Delivery Drivers also provide excellent customer service, assist patients with inquiries, and maintain delivery logs and records. They play a key role in supporting patient care by ensuring that medications are delivered efficiently and securely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport medications, medical supplies, and pharmacy orders to patients’ homes, hospitals, or healthcare facilities.
- Verify delivery orders and ensure accuracy of items being delivered, including prescription medications and over-the-counter products.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients, including answering questions about medications, delivery schedules, and insurance coverage.
- Assist patients with signing for deliveries and collecting payment, if required.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including documenting delivery times, recipient signatures, and any delivery-related issues or concerns.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the delivery vehicle.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Coordinate with pharmacy staff to ensure timely preparation and packaging of delivery orders.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacy team members to address any delivery-related issues or special instructions from patients.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
– Prior experience in delivery or transportation preferred.
